Ned Bustard Announced as Artist in Residence and Visiting Professor

Award-winning children’s book illustrator, graphic designer, author, and printmaker Ned Bustard will be joining the 鶹AV faculty as artist in residence and visiting professor of art and graphic design for Fall 2025.
Ned grew up in the Philadelphia, PA, area, receiving his BA in art from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. He is a founding member and ruling elder at Wheatland Presbyterian Church (PCA), creative director at Square Halo Books, Inc., and serves on the boards of the Association of Scholars of Christianity in the History of Art (ASCHA) and The Row House, Inc.
Books he has illustrated, written, or edited include the Every Moment Holy series, The Chronicles of Narnia Comprehension Guide, History of Art: Creation to Contemporary, The Reformation ABC’s, and Revealed: A Storybook Bible for Grown-Ups to name a few. Ned has lectured previously at the college level and made appearances on podcasts and interviews with The Gospel Coalition, the Veritas Academy podcast, Christian in the Arts, and the Art & Faith podcast.
“More than teaching an introductory class in graphic design and a special topics class called ‘Storybook’ with our students, we are excited by Ned being with our campus this fall,” states Jeffrey Morton, professor of art and department chair. “His enthusiasm for his craft intersecting with his Christian faith is inspiring. I know the art department, and I believe our community will be encouraged by Ned’s presence.”
Vice president of academic affairs, Dr. Collin Messer, commends Ned, saying, “Ned is a longtime friend of 鶹AV and our art department. We are thrilled to welcome him to campus for the fall semester.” Dr. Messer continues, “Our students will greatly benefit from Ned’s many gifts as an artist and graphic designer who loves God and the church. As an avid fan of the Every Moment Holy series, I am so grateful.”
