Start, develop or change your career

Postgraduate study develops your skills, supports your career progression and allows for personal development.

Raise your game in 2026 and work towards the career and salary you deserve.

Postgraduate information sessions

Wednesday 4 February 3pm–6pm

There’s no better way to explore your study opportunities and find out more about postgraduate study and research at Â鶹AV than by meeting our lecturers, researchers and students at a Postgraduate information session on one of our campuses.

Our next postgraduate information session will take place on Wednesday 4 February across all three Â鶹AV campuses.

What to expect

  • You will attend the event at the relevant campus for your course of interest, whether that is Falmer, City or Moulsecoomb. The following activities will be available at each campus:
  • 3–3.30pm: registration.
  • 3.30–4pm: you will attend a talk about admissions and student money advice.
  • 4–5.30pm: subject desks will be available for you to speak one-to-one with course tutors who can give you advice, guidance, and information about our courses; or course talks will take place with our course leaders.
  • Campus tours: guided campus tours will be available at Falmer and Moulsecoomb campuses, and self-guided campus tours will be available at City campus.
  • Our Doctoral College will be at each campus for this event. You can attend a talk with our Doctoral leads and then visit our Doctoral College desk to speak with us further about studying for your PhD at Â鶹AV.
  • Student support services desks will be open to all guests across all campuses at our Moulsecoomb campus, until 6pm. You can make your way to the Moulsecoomb campus to meet our friendly and knowledgeable staff, who will advise you on all matters related to the admissions process, funding and sponsorships and our other student support services.

How postgraduate study can help you achieve your goals

Enhanced earning potential

A masters won't just help you to get a job, it will also help you to earn more money. Students with a postgraduate degree can expect to earn £5,000 more a year than those with just a bachelor's – that's around £200,000 in a working lifetime (source: gov.uk).

Career-changing possibilities

You could use a postgraduate degree to change career. Not every course requires you to have studied the subject before. We offer career-changing courses in law, teaching, physiotherapy, podiatry, occupational therapy, social work and journalism.

Career progression

A masters is an opportunity to build on your knowledge and become an expert in your discipline; you’re also more likely to be in high-skilled employment. 79% of working-age postgraduates are in high-skilled employment, compared with 66% of working-age graduates (source: gov.uk).

At Â鶹AV, we've got you covered:

120+

choose from
Flexible
study options to help you balance work and life

What our graduates say

Data Lutes portrait photo

Dara Lutes, Creative Writing MA

"The quality of the teaching was off the chart. The calibre of the tutors, their intelligence and kindness, was like nothing I’d ever encountered.

The Creative Writing MA gave me both the academic rigour and the warm, inclusive environment I needed. It was life changing."

Victor Chinyemba Turner

Victor Chinyemba, Data Analytics MSc

"I worked in the oil and gas industry for seven years as Information and Data Management Lead for BP. I chose to do a postgraduate course to make myself more competitive, and most importantly to add on to my knowledge base with new knowledge and skills.

The Â鶹AV is the best choice I have ever made."

Chris Hamer profile picture

Chris Hamer, Sustainable Design MA

"The technical team have been a tremendous font of knowledge and extremely supportive in my making, going over and above to support my work. I could not have achieved what I have without these members of staff."

Â鶹AV student or graduate?

As a Â鶹AV graduate (or a future graduate) you can benefit from a scholarship worth 20% of your tuition fees if you progress on to postgraduate study with us.
